Ingredients:

1.Whole Moong dal
|
1 Cup

2.Onion – Finely chopped
|
1 cup
|
|
3.Curry leaves
|
1 spring
|
|
4.Mustard
|
1/4 Tsp.
|
|
5.Oil
|
2 to 3 spoons
|
|
6.Turmeric
|
1/4 tsp
|
|
7.Salt
|
To taste
|

8.Coconut grated
|
¼ Cup
|
Procedure:
1. Check for dust.
2. Keep the flame in medium & Roast the
whole moong dal in a pan till it becomes brown
3. Add about 3 cups of water and pressure
cook the Moong dal for 3-4 whistles in a pressure cooker.
4. Once the Moong is pressure cooked, Strain
the water.
5. In a pan add 2-3 spoons of oil, once
heated add mustard followed by curry leaves and onion.
6. Sauté onion till it turns translucent,
add turmeric and mix well.
7. Now add strained moong dal and mix it
well.
8. Add salt as per taste.
9. Cook in medium flame for 4-5 mins.
10. Now add grated coconut and serve.
